Day 0
So, it's been a week since I got back from AX and I still have yet to post about what happened or any of the pictures that I took. That is because it took me this long to get all of the pictures uploaded. So, now for your viewing pleasure, DAY 0. WARNING: There is going to be a LOT of pictures behind these cuts, so 56kers beware.


So, the fun began with me staying up all night to catch a plane the left at 6:30am. Unfortunately, I was half asleep when I made the reservation and made it for friday rather than thursday morning. I finally called in 20 minutes after the van was supposed to arrive to find out that it was never coming. Thankfully, they were still willing to send a van out to me and I got to the airport with time to spare. Sam & Co. got to the airport early, so I got to meet a few of them before I headed down. I was on a different plane down than them because I was too slow getting plane tickets.

Anyways, plane ride down there was uneventful. At the airport I met Lark, who I don't have any pictures of because I only ever saw him once more after meeting him at the airport. (That's counting all the time we were down there. Which I find hilarious because he was supposed to be sharing a room with us.) So we wait a bit and Sam & Co's plane finally arrives. I then meet Scott and his girlfriend Pam. I also meet Luke, but we had already met a Sea-Tac. This would be the first of the 4 times I ever saw Pam in person. (she was yet another person I was supposed to be sharing a hotel room with.)

We get the rental car and Scott drives Sam, Luke and I to the hotel. We got some crappy directions there and it took us a lot of driving around until we finally found it. Once we got there we got straight to getting our costumes ready because we needed to pick up our badges and then head to cosplay chess. Our rush resulted in a giant mess within minutes of getting into the hotel room.


We rushed off to the convention center and then stood in line to get our tickets. It was a long line and moved fairly fast, but sadly standing in line was going to be a regular thing for the rest of the convention.

Once we got our badges, we headed over to cosplay chess. Now, cosplay chess for those not in the know (like I was) is a giant game of chess where the pieces are all people in cosplay. There are two 'commanders' that play a game of chess using these pieces and when you attack you try and think of some witty way to kill your opponent, or if you die you die dramatically. It was a lot of fun. Here's some pictures:







At the event there was a really awesome Luffy and Captain Jack wandering around. I got some pictures of them.




Meguma was the host of the event and he was dressed up as Vegeto (the fused form of Vegeta and Goku from DBZ).



After the chess we had a few photo shoots and hung out with fellow cosplayers. It was a lot of fun.








After that we headed home to get a good nights sleep in preparation for Day 1 of the convention. It was then that we found out that both Pam and Lark would not be staying in the hotel with us. People were not happy. This was the start of the drama.


This took forever to put together and I have a ton more pictures for the next days. I'll try and get it up later today, but in all likelihood it won't be up until tomorrow.
