AX Day1
Er...sorry for the long wait. Lost some time spent on day 1 and had to go figure out what I did during it. XD Same warning as for the other day. BIG PICTURES
Anyways, without further adieu:
We woke up at 8am to be sure that we had some time to get our costumes together. We managed to judge from the day before that it took us about 2 hours to all get ready, so we planned on being there at 10am. Unfortunately, Luke (one of the guys with us) didn't pre-reg and needed to stand in line to get a ticket. The line was huge. Not really wanting to stand in line again since we had the day before, we left Luke there and took the 'weapons' to get peacebonded. Along the way we caught some interesting outfits.
After peacebonding we meet up with the girls we had met the day before and headed back to check on Luke. After all that time he had barely made it anywhere in the line relative to where he had started and we're really mean, so we left him there. We wandered around a bit and got our picture taken. At this point Sam noticed that the buckles on his shoes were coming off and needed something to stick them back on. The girls knew where the local 7-11 was, so we went off on a trek to the store. Some tape, mountain dew, and water later we're back at the con.
By now the line for the S.K.I.N. tickets has already started forming so we get in line. The line is really long and boring and we took turns actually standing in the sun for it. Even so, I still got burned. While waiting in line I got to snap some pictures of some awesome cosplays.

We finally get our tickets after standing in line for almost two hours. Tired of lines and not relishing the idea of standing in line to get into the concert already, we take a walk around the con to get to the entrance to the Dealer's Hall. Along the way I catch some photos of some cool cosplays.

Once we finally get to the entrance (the convention center is really badly planned out and hard to get to different places in) we make a quick sweep of the Artist's Alley (and this cute cosplay) before heading into the Dealer's Hall. To say it was way bigger than I expected was an understatement.

On the way back to stand in line some more, more pictures of costumes were taken.

We checked it out for a while until we felt the need to stand in line to get into the S.K.I.N.concert. Another few hours in line, and resisting the urge to buy $5 lemonade (the people selling them probably made a TON of money) later we finally get into the concert. It was really disappointing. Especially since we stood in line for so long to get the tickets and get in the hall even though they were still handing tickets out in the line to get in. Very lame.
The concert itself was pretty lame. It was 45 minutes long, consisted of 3 songs and then them just jamming on their relative instrument. Not worth the wait. Tired of standing in line, we decide to just wait until there was no line for the AMV contest before going in. With some time to spare we head out to get dinner. We stop at a Mexican restaurant that we saw on our way to the 7-11 earlier. We got some strange looks from passers-by and and waiting staff, but no more so than any other fictional characters would. ^^ We stopped by the 7-11 again to restock on supplies and then headed off to meet up with Luke and Pam again.
After some drama with her between the Luke, Scott, and Lark, we head off to see the AMV contest. We of course find things to take pictures of along the way.
And a handy-dandy list of cosplay gatherings.
We got to the entrance of the AMV showing where there was no line and still tickets available. It was at this point that we realized that standing in line for stuff was stupid. We get in just as the whole thing starts. Only after getting ourselves settled did we find out that the person in charge of the event had lost all but 5 of the entrants. We sat through those and then headed home.
There was more drama on the ride back to the hotel and even more once we got there. By the end of it, both Luke and Scott were thinking of changing their plane ticket and heading home early. Scott agreed to sleep on it, Luke had already decided to leave. So we all went to sleep.
